It seems like every time Roger Federer steps out on to court, he is on the verge of creating, or even extending some record(s). The 2017 Wimbledon Championships was no exception. It was another magnificent chapter in an already glittering career, and further strengthened his claim as the greatest men’s tennis player of all time.

  2. Surpassed Rafael Nadal for most finals reached at a Grand Slam – 11
  3. Surpassed Jimmy Connors for most Wimbledon semi-finals – 12
  4. Surpassed Jimmy Connors for most Wimbledon quarter-finals – 15
  5. Surpassed Jimmy Connors for most Wimbledon match wins – 91
  6. Became the only player to win at least 8 slams on 2 different surfaces (Grass – 8, Hard – 10)
  7. Surpassed Arthur Ashe(who won Wimbledon at 31) as the oldest Wimbledon champion in the Open Era – 35 years 342 days.
    He is also the second oldest major champion after Ken Rosewall, who won the Australian Open at 37.
  8. Joined Bjorn Borg as the only players in the Open Era to win Wimbledon without dropping a set
  9. Joined Bjorn Borg as the only players in the Open Era to win 2 different slams without dropping a set
  10. Became the first player to win Wimbledon 4 times for the loss of just 1 set or less
  11. Equalled Rafael Nadal for Most Outdoor titles – 71
  12. Became the only player to win at least 2 slams in 6 different years
  13. Became the only player to play at least 11 Finals in 3 different tournaments – Basel 12, Halle 11, Wimbledon 11
