Bayern record second largest aggregate victory in Champions League history against Arsenal

Bayern Munich thrashed Arsenal 5-1 both home and away to advance to the quarter-finals of the 2016-17 UEFA Champions league.

With the resulting 10-2 aggregate victory, Bayern join Olympique Lyonnais (beat Werder Bremen 10-2, 2005 round of 16) and FC Barcelona (beat Bayer Leverkusen 10-2, 2012 round of 16) as teams to have recorded an 8 goal victory margin in the knockout rounds of the Champions League.

The largest aggregate victory margin is 10 goals. It was also achieved by Bayern, when they beat Sporting Lisbon 12-1 in the 2009 round of 16.
