It completed a full round of La Liga matches without defeat for the Catalan club. Barca’s last league defeat came at the hands of Celta, a 4-3 defeat at Balaídos in October. Since then, they have been on a 19-match undefeated streak , which includes 14 wins and 5 draws.
The excellent run of form by Barca has propelled them to the top of La Liga, a point above Real Madrid, albeit having played a game more.
Messi’s brilliant display, which included 2 goals and 2 assists, also means that he has now scored in 6 consecutive league matches. He has netted 8 times in that period.
The next question – can Barca and Messi translate their recent run of domestic form into an unlikely comeback from 4-0 down against PSG in the Champions League?
